experience

For the past eight years, I was doing vaccine adjuvant research at the National Research Council. Meanwhile, along with some tutoring gigs, judging at the Ottawa Regional Science Fair had been my annual pilgrimage to support science literacy as well as to see what the future Steve Jobs and Rachel Carson were up to.

In terms of library-related experiences, I was the social media/marketing administrator for the Library Association of the National Capital Region (LANCR) for the past two years. Apart from the regular pub nights, their special library tours and student-professional networking events have proved to be very popular.

As a volunteer at the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association (FOPLA), I assisted in their used book sales (both on-site and via Better World Books) that raised over $26,000 for the Ottawa Public Library in 2013. I also conducted a customer survey aimed at further improving their marketing strategies.

Last but not least, I was lucky to be involved with the Capital Reading Garden in Ottawa. My responsibilities included developing a site-specific collection policy and securing a source of book donation from a local non-profit organization.
